ElevenLabs is officially launching in Canada with plans to double the size of its team in the country this year.
The AI audio company announced today that it is formalizing its Canadian presence with a new Toronto office, a growing team across Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver, and the appointment of Max Lemmens as General Manager for Canada.
The move marks a significant expansion for ElevenLabs in a market where the company says it already has 30,000 users, ranging from creators to national telecommunications companies.
Lemmens joined ElevenLabs last year and has worked on complex deployments with companies including Revolut and Klarna, spanning commercial strategy through technical implementation. In his new role, he will lead the company’s Canadian growth as ElevenLabs looks to deepen relationships with businesses adopting voice AI and conversational agents.

ElevenLabs said it plans to hire across research, engineering, sales, solutions, and other teams as it expands in Canada. The company described Ontario as a natural base for its next chapter, pointing to Toronto’s business and financial sector, Ottawa’s public-sector institutions, and the Toronto-Waterloo corridor’s concentration of startups, enterprise customers, and technical talent.

For ElevenLabs, Canada’s bilingual market and major industries make it a strong fit for voice and audio AI adoption. The company pointed to potential demand in financial services, healthcare, retail, telecom, gaming, film, and television production, where businesses are exploring new ways to communicate with customers and create multilingual content.
The company is already working with several Canadian organizations. TELUS Digital uses ElevenLabs’ AI voice agents to speed up onboarding for new call centre employees, with the company reporting a 20 per cent reduction in onboarding time. The Globe and Mail uses ElevenLabs’ voice models to narrate articles, while Blackbox AI and Boosted.ai have adopted the platform for AI coding agents and investment research assistants, respectively.
Canada’s latest AI ambitions also factor into the expansion. ElevenLabs noted that the country’s AI strategy targets an increase in enterprise AI adoption from 12 per cent to 60 per cent by 2034.
With its Canadian launch, ElevenLabs is positioning the country as both a customer market and a talent hub for the next wave of voice AI adoption.
