Genetec Expands Offices in Montreal and UK Amid ‘Rapid Workforce Growth’

July 17, 2025 by Knowlton Thomas

Genetec, a provider of enterprise physical security software, recently announced the expansion of its Montreal headquarters, as well as its UK office, to accommodate “rapid workforce growth” amid rising customer demand.

The Quebec firm offers a portfolio of security-as-a-service products, including its flagship Security Center SaaS, which combines video surveillance, access control, forensic search, intrusion monitoring, automation, and other advanced capabilities into a single solution.

“The world is changing, and your physical security solution needs to be able to adapt,” the company states online. “Effective physical security technology … gives you a unified view of your ongoing operations and presents data to let you analyze and gain the insights you need to improve your strategy and better understand your environment.”

Since 2020, Genetec has grown its global headcount by 65%, and the company now employs more than 2,100 people across 20 offices on four continents, with over 100 roles currently open across multiple departments.

Andrew Elvish, Vice President of Marketing at Genetec, says the company’s expanded offices have been “designed … as centres of innovation and connection.”

In Canada, Genetec’s Montréal campus sprawls nearly 400,000 square feet across five buildings, housing research and development, commercial and operational teams, an Experience Centre, and private bistros for employees and guests.

“Well-designed and well-appointed offices help us attract and retain the creative, driven individuals who deliver exceptional work,” Elvish stated.

Founded in Montreal in 1997, Genetec today serves over 42,000 customers throughout more than 150 countries. The firm has been named one of Montreal’s Top Employers more than a dozen times.
