nesto’s $300 Million Raise Signals Hiring Momentum at Canadian Mortgage Tech Leader

June 10, 2026 by Techtalent.ca Newsdesk

Montreal-based mortgage technology company nesto is entering its next stage of growth with fresh capital, a rising valuation, and a growing national team.

The Canadian fintech recently raised $300 million, further strengthening its position as one of the country’s leading mortgage technology and financing platforms. For job seekers, the financing also points to another signal: nesto is hiring as it continues to scale across Canada.

Founded in 2018, nesto has grown from a digital mortgage startup into a broader mortgage ecosystem serving consumers, financial institutions, credit unions, and commercial real estate lenders. Today, Nesto Group says it manages more than $80 billion in residential and commercial mortgages and employs more than 1,200 talents and mortgage experts across 12 offices nationwide.

The company’s growth has been fuelled by its push to modernize one of Canada’s largest and most complex financial services categories. Its platform combines digital mortgage experiences for borrowers with cloud-based lending technology for institutions, including Nesto Cloud, which the company describes as an AI-ready, end-to-end lending platform built for financial institutions, credit unions, and commercial real estate lenders.

That expansion has created a broad hiring footprint. Current roles promoted through nesto and its hiring channels span mortgage underwriting, technology, product, operations, service delivery, technical support, compliance, and talent acquisition.

On its careers page, nesto says it is looking for people interested in “shaping the future of Canadian mortgages,” with a culture built around transparency, empathy, urgency, honesty, ambition, ownership, and fun. The company highlights perks including hybrid work, dog-friendly offices, four weeks of vacation, flex days, health insurance, telemedicine access, an employee assistance program, a wellness stipend, competitive compensation, and an employee mortgage program.

For Canadian tech talent, nesto’s latest financing arrives at a notable moment. While parts of the technology sector continue to navigate a more cautious hiring market, companies with strong domain focus, recurring demand, and clear enterprise or financial services use cases are still scaling.

nesto sits at the intersection of several of those trends: fintech, AI-enabled workflow modernization, consumer finance, lending infrastructure, and financial institution digitization.

The company’s leadership team includes co-founder and CEO Malik Yacoubi, co-founder and CTO Karim Benabdallah, co-founder and COO Damien Charbonneau, and co-founder and principal broker Chase Belair.

As Canada’s housing and mortgage markets continue to evolve, nesto’s latest raise gives the company more room to invest in technology, partnerships, and people.

For job seekers looking to work in Canadian fintech, mortgage technology, or financial services infrastructure, nesto’s next chapter may be worth watching.
