India’s HCL Technologies is expanding its footprint in Canada with the unveiling of its new global delivery centre (GDC) in Mississauga.
This GDC continues HCL’s’ 12 years of successful growth in Canada, which includes the first office launched in Toronto in 2009, the first GDC launched in New Brunswick in 2019 and the planned expansion of offices in British Columbia and Alberta.
The company has plans to nearly double its current Canadian workforce of 1,110, including creating hundreds of additional employment opportunities in tech for the Mississauga and Peel region.
HCL will also be working with area companies and local government, and engaging with regional post-secondary institutions on hiring and education-related initiatives.
“From our newest center, clients can experience a whole new world of technological innovation enabled by leading edge immersive technologies, HCL’s best in class Intellectual property solutions and a unique design thinking approach to some of the most complex problems of Canadian enterprises,” said Joelien Jose, EVP & Country Head – Canada.
The Mississauga center, which has a seating capacity of 350, will be one of the largest for HCL in Canada, housing co-innovation labs for customers to ideate, collaborate, develop and deliver futuristic solutions through next generation technologies in their business transformation journeys.
HCL plans to create 2,000 new employment opportunities in Canada in the next three years, engaging Canada’s diverse and highly skilled local talent to serve its global clients.
