Rodeo FX has opened its third studio in Canada.
The Montreal-born creative company’s latest studio is in Toronto’s Liberty Village, according to a recent announcement from the company. The new space will begin with a team of five dozen, who will join Rodeo’s global arsenal of 800 employees.
“We are incredibly excited to start a new chapter for Rodeo here,” said Sébastien Moreau, founder and CEO of Rodeo FX, in a statement. “It’s something that we’ve been building towards as we have a long history of collaboration with talented artists in Toronto.”
Rodeo’s new location will be led by two talents: Mai-Ling Dydo, who will serve as as VFX supervisor, and Lara Osland, who will function as as VFX producer.
“Canada is a rich hub for talent and this studio will open new doors locally and internationally,” Morea noted.
Rodeo FX was awarded Employer of the Year at the 2022 Mercuriade thanks in part to a flexible hybrid model for employees. The Canadian company says it has “paid particular attention to the health and well-being of its employees and artists” in the wake of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
“We want to provide a place where our artists can exchange and work in state-of-the-art spaces while allowing for flexibility in working from home,” said Moreau of the new Toronto studio.
Founded in 2006, Rodeo’s more recent work includes Stranger Things and the upcoming Little Mermaid remake.
