LinkedIn data shows that skillsets for jobs have changed 25% since 2015 and are projected to shift by 65% by 2030.
Executives estimate that 40% of their workforce will need to re-skill as a result of implementing AI and automation over the next three years, a IBM survey found, which could translate to 1.4 billion people worldwide.
“The acceleration of artificial intelligence and automation has created new opportunities and challenges for professionals and companies alike looking to prepare for the future,” suggests a new report from LinkedIn, which highlights Jobs on the Rise for 2024.
The list uncovers trends defining where the workforce is headed and offers insight into emerging opportunities, according to LinkedIn.
The top five roles in Canada are:
Growth Manager – These managers collaborate with sales, marketing, and communications teams to develop marketing strategies that grow business revenue.
Energy Advisor – These Advisors measure energy use in a home and offer expertise to help reduce consumption.
Wealth Management Associate – These Associates provide advice and assist in the field of wealth management, which is rapidly adopting fintech.
Diversity and Inclusion Specialist – These Specialists work with recruiters to reinforce gender and racial diversity in the workplace and design related company-wide policies.
Strategy Associate – These Associates develop and execute an organization’s strategic vision to create growth and improve performance.
“As Canadians look for work in 2024 amid a slowing job market, the new year marks an opportunity for a fresh start,” LinkedIn posits. “This list is meant to serve as a resource for you, no matter what stage of your career you’re in.”
Other in-demand roles in Canada include Cyber Security Analyst (we need a lot of them!), Electrical Design Engineer, and Data Management Analyst.
