Over 300,000 Canadians Gain New Digital Skills With Microsoft

October 5, 2020 by Robert Lewis

Over the past three months, over 10 million learners worldwide have gained new digital skills as part of Microsoft, LinkedIn and GitHub’s global skills initiative.

The ambitious program was launched in June to provide access to digital skills for those experiencing economic impact caused by COVID-19.

By reskilling workers impacted by COVID-19, Microsoft will continue to promote career development in the digital economy to help build a diverse and successful workforce in Canada and around the world.

Across Canada, more than 315,000 learning paths were completed through opportunity.linkedin.com.

The free learning paths are mapped to jobs that are in-demand, provide discounted Microsoft certifications to validate skills and offer best practices for job searching and interview prepping.

The most popular paths to date include Software Developer and Data Analyst.
