Career Opportunities At B.C.’s Award Winning Tech Companies

November 11, 2020 by Robert Lewis

It’s a great time to be looking for a new gig in British Columbia’s tech ecosystem.

Vancouver just ranked first for high-tech software job growth, leading the top tech markets in the US and Canada with a growth rate of 29.2% over the past two years.

Last week the following companies were honoured at the 2020 Technology Impact Awards and they are actively hiring in B.C.

AbCellera

Excellence in Global Export award winner AbCellera is hiring for 30+ roles including biologists, biochemists, engineers, bioinformaticians, computer scientists, and physicists. Earlier this year AbCellera was named the winner of Fast Company’s Innovative Team of the Year award. AbCellera’s Pandemic Prevention Platform team brought the first COVID-19 antibody to clinical trials in under 90 days.

Klue

Company of the Year – Growth Success award winner Klue is hiring across Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Product for their competitive intelligence tool. In September Klue raised a $15 million Series A funding round led by Silicon Valley’s Craft Ventures.

SkyHive

Spirit of BC Tech award winner SkyHive is an advanced source of data for how the world works and learns. With its AI-based engine, the platform reads an employee’s work profile to translate it into skills. It then finds correlation between these skills and the skills extracted from jobs to identify optimized career pathways through learning solutions – all done automatically using millions of real-time data points.

Terramera

Excellence in Technology Innovation award recipient Terramera is a cleantech leader focused on fusing AI, science and nature to create revolutionary technologies that transform how we grow food and solve other world-scale challenges. Awards are nothing new for Terramera – earlier this year they were recognized by Fast Company’s 2020 World Changing Ideas Awards and they’re actively hiring.

Trulioo

Trulioo won the Company of the Year – Scale Success award, punctuating an incredible year for the Silicon Valley-funded identity verification platform. In advance of this local acknowledgement, Trulioo was named one of Canada’s Top 400 Growing Companies, included in CB Insights Fintech 250, ranked 27 on CNBC Disruptor 50 and recognized by The World Economic Forum as a 2020 Technology Pioneer. Trulioo is hiring Engineers and a lot more

Unbounce

No one should be surprised to hear that Vancouver’s Unbounce was awarded the GameChanger – Diversity & Inclusion award. Last month they announced the launch of Pay Up for Progress, a new initiative aimed at urging business leaders to prioritize gender pay parity within their organizations. Unbounce is the world’s leading landing page platform with a workplace of over 175 people who really, truly care about one another and 20 very good office dogs (watch the video).
