Expanding to Toronto, Alteon Hires Canadian Tech Talent

May 11, 2023 by Knowlton Thomas

Alteon.io has chosen Canada as their first international expansion outside of the United States, making its initial mark in Toronto.

The comprehensive cloud-based platform powering creative workflows for content creators announced this week that an expansion outside of the United States to Canada, where Alteon.io is now actively seeking top talent.

“We examined multiple cities and agreed Toronto is the best option given the area’s strong support of business development, the high quality of workers and the city’s status as a cultural capital,” stated Matt Cimaglia, co-founder and CEO of Alteon.

To facilitate the recruitment process, Alteon.io will host a recruitment mixer at Pauper’s Pub in downtown Toronto on May 18 from 6-9pm.

“As we continue to scale up our product with an aggressive roadmap, we look forward to establishing and in the near future expanding Alteon in Canada,” Cimaglia said.

The news comes on the heels of Alteon.io’s success at the National Association of Broadcasters conference, where they secured two awards: the 2023 Product of the Year and TV Tech Best of Show.

Held annually in Las Vegas, the NAB conference is the largest event in the domestic media and broadcast industry.

Throughout their expansion process, Alteon.io worked closely with Toronto Global, a team of business advisors specializing in assisting global companies seeking to establish a presence in the Toronto Region.

“Toronto is a world-class city for film and TV production, employing more than 30,000 people across the region,” explains Stephen Lund, CEO of Toronto Global. “We are so excited to see that community continue to grow rapidly.”

Toronto’s local production industry recently achieved a milestone, surpassing CAD$2.5 billion in direct spending in 2021, according to an announcement made by the City of Toronto in March 2022.

This accomplishment has attracted substantial investments, including Netflix’s establishment of its first Canadian office in Toronto earlier this year.

Alteon.io’s parent company, Third Summit, recently received a $4.5-million seed round from Florida Innovation Capital. This injection of $2.75 million was propelled by Alteon.io’s surge in the media landscape during the first quarter of the year.

“Alteon.io understands the trends in this market and we are proud to support them in their mission of democratizing the creative industry through innovation and technology,” Lund added.

Alteon.io is leading the charge in democratizing the media industry by creating professional-grade tools that are accessible to all. The platform offers features such as easy file upload, seamless collaboration, efficient review processes, and secure project storage, all within a single, user-friendly interface.

The company was founded in New York in 2020.
