Harvey Hiring in Toronto as Legal AI Firm Expands into Canada

August 7, 2025 by Robert Lewis

Harvey, a leading AI platform for legal and professional services, is hiring in Toronto as it prepares to open a new Canadian hub this October.

The company plans to hire more than 20 engineering and sales professionals locally, embedding itself in Canada’s AI tech ecosystem and establishing Toronto as a core development engine for its global operations.

“Canada is not just a market for Harvey, it’s a place we’re thrilled to be building in,” said Winston Weinberg, CEO and Co-Founder of Harvey. “We’re investing in local talent, partnering with leading firms, and embedding ourselves in the country’s tech ecosystem. Toronto offers everything we look for in a growth hub: world-class infrastructure, exceptional talent, and a legal community eager to innovate.”

Already working with prominent Canadian firms like Davies and Gowling WLG, Harvey sees its expansion into Canada as a strategic opportunity to grow alongside a legal market increasingly open to AI innovation. The company’s platform helps lawyers draft, strategize, and automate complex workflows—securely drawing from proprietary and public legal sources.

“Toronto will become a core development engine for Harvey,” added Siva Gurumurthy, Chief Technology Officer. “We’re building critical infrastructure, expanding engineering capacity, and integrating Canadian technical leadership directly into our product lifecycle.”

Backed by investors including Sequoia and the OpenAI Startup Fund, Harvey is used by more than 500 clients across 54 countries. The Toronto hub marks the latest step in the company’s global growth strategy and its long-term commitment to local hiring and innovation in Canada.
