Insurance Disruptor APOLLO Hiring at Next Tech Talent Canada Job Fair

June 6, 2022 by Knowlton Thomas

One thing technology does great is turn our dirty, complicated tasks into clean, efficient processes.

Take for example the business of insurance: in an era of paper stacks and calculators, one can imagine a nightmarish field. However, companies like APOLLO modernize the insurance process thoroughly, leaving nary a hint of the ways of old.

Digital-Forward Insurance

“Our digital-forward approach eliminates traditional paper-based processes by leveraging extensive data and intelligent algorithms to quote, collect payment, and issue policies—all without human intervention,” explains Chloe Lyons, Director of Recruitment for APOLLO.

“APOLLO is making the insurance buying process effortless, in line with modern consumers’ expectations,” Jeff McCann, CEO and cofounder, stated last year following a Series B round of financing for his company.

The Vancouver-based insur-tech firm runs policy purchases through its APOLLO Exchange, the company’s embedded proprietary platform.

Lyons told Tech Talent Canada that this digital-forward approach is “fast, easy, and redefining insurance distribution.” It’s a transformation that is sweeping Canada’s entire financial technology sector.

At the Tech Talent Canada Job Fair

In July, Tech Talent Canada will host its next Job Fair. These seasonal job fairs offer prime opportunities for Canadians to connect with some of the country’s hottest hiring startups and forge epic careers.

The growing APOLLO is hiring for several positions, including software engineers and developers to help continue improving the technology behind the business.

“We have several open roles,” confirms Lyons. “We are hoping to connect with top talent to join our team.”

To find the best people for the job, APOLLO makes use of Tech Talent Canada’s Job Fairs.

“We have attended Tech Talent Canada events in the past and it’s always been a great opportunity to share what we do [and] how we are digitizing insurance,” said Lyons, who noted that the events are full of “individuals passionate about disruption and tech.”

And while insurance may not be the most exciting industry, APOLLO draws potential workers in with some impressive perks.

In line with the company’s digital-first products, Lyons says that employees can enjoy remote work flexibility. Indeed, APOLLO offers nearly a thousand dollars to help set up an ergonomic home office set-up.

APOLLO also hosts monthly Social Club events, provides a competitive benefits package, and offers unlimited vacation time, according to Lyons. There’s even a monthly stipend for well-being activities to keep employees healthy and happy.

The next Tech Talent Canada Job Fair is on July 20 and is free for job seekers.
