Texas Tech Titan Establishes Canadian Headquarters to Tap into Toronto Talent

October 18, 2024 by Knowlton Thomas

A digital services company based in Texas is establishing a Canadian headquarters.

Improving is bolstering its Dallas base with a “state-of-the-art facility” in Toronto, the company announced this week.

The move is “a pivotal step in our global expansion strategy,” according to chief executive officer Curtis Hite.

“This new office will enable us to better serve our Canadian customers and tap into the incredible talent pool that Toronto offers,” the CEO said.

The new office, slated to house up to 100 employees, is situated in a “prime location” on East Liberty Street, according to a statement from Improving, which has “invested in significant development within Canada over the past three years.”

Specifically, the number of employees working at Canadian offices has expanded from dozens to 400 over that time period. Improving offices now span the country from Vancouver to Toronto to ensure “a presence across all major time zones.”

Despite established offices in Ottawa and Winnipeg, Toronto is poised to be Improving’s headquarters for Canada thanks to the size of its tech cluster and talent pool, suggests Vic Fedeli, Ontario’s Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation, and Trade.

“Home to the second largest tech cluster in North America, with 70,000 STEM graduates every year and 420,000 tech workers and growing, we continue to see both domestic and international tech companies choosing to invest in Ontario’s thriving innovation ecosystem,” said Fedeli.

“We congratulate Improving on the grand opening of their new headquarters and thank them for investing in Ontario’s talented tech workforce,” the federal minister added.

Improving, which praised Toronto’s “vibrant business environment and strategic location,” has also supported the local tech community through their its startup competition called CodeLaunch, which had its inaugural Canadian show in Toronto in August.

Improving launched out of Dallas, Texas in 2007. The firm provides enterprise software consulting, development, and training to Fortune 500 and Global 1000 enterprises across the world.
