Tech talent in Toronto will have a prime opportunity to connect with industry leaders, startups, and global investors as Toronto Tech Week returns from June 23 to June 27, 2025.
The citywide event promises hundreds of experiences, from hackathons and demos to panels and fireside chats, all aimed at showcasing Toronto’s booming tech sector and reinforcing its status as a global innovation hub.
Organized by the Canada Tech Week Organization, a volunteer-run non-profit, the initiative is backed by presenting sponsors Shopify, Google Cloud, and the City of Toronto. Over 40 community partners, including the University of Toronto, DMZ, TechTO, Wealthsimple, and Cohere, have signed on, with more expected to join.
“Toronto Tech Week is a pivotal moment for the tech ecosystem,” said Satish Kanwar, one of the event’s organizers. “Our focus is clear: to retain and nurture the talent that powers our innovation economy, attract investment, and strengthen Toronto’s competitiveness as a global tech leader.”
Toronto has emerged as a top destination for careers in AI, FinTech, e-commerce, and cloud computing, with companies actively hiring across various roles. Tech professionals attending the weeklong event will have opportunities to network with major employers, attend recruitment-focused sessions, and explore industry trends shaping the future of work.
Shopify President Harley Finkelstein emphasized the importance of recognition for Canadian entrepreneurs and innovators. “The problem is, they rarely receive the attention or recognition they deserve,” he said. “This event will bring together the most ambitious local entrepreneurs and innovators and further cement Canada as the best place in the world to build a business.”
The schedule will feature community events, large-scale featured experiences, and an online platform to help attendees navigate the week’s offerings. The full event lineup will be announced in the spring.
