Wealthsimple Is Hiring As Fintech Momentum Builds Across Canada

June 12, 2026 by Robert Lewis

Wealthsimple has been one of Canada’s most active fintech companies this year.

The Toronto-based financial technology company has rolled out new products, expanded into new areas of financial services, deepened its payments infrastructure, and continued pushing its brand into places where Canadians are already thinking about money.

Now, it is hiring.

Wealthsimple’s careers page currently lists open roles across multiple teams, including advisory and planning, marketing, finance, engineering, product, data, security, operations, and customer experience. Recent postings include roles for financial planners, software developers, product designers, analysts, marketers, and other professionals supporting the company’s expanding platform.

For Canadian tech talent, the hiring activity comes as Wealthsimple continues to grow beyond its early identity as an investing app.

The company says it now administers more than $100 billion in assets for millions of clients and employs more than 1,500 people. Its stated mission is to help everyone achieve financial freedom by making financial products simple, smart, and affordable.

That mission has translated into a busy stretch of product and platform expansion.

As Fintech.ca recently reported, Wealthsimple launched Monthly Millionaire, a new rewards program that will award $1 million every month to one eligible Wealthsimple Chequing account client. Under the program, every dollar held in a Wealthsimple Chequing account counts as one entry into a monthly draw.

The promotion was announced alongside Wealthsimple’s broader expansion into family and business banking, unveiled at the company’s Wealthsimple Presents event in Calgary. That expansion included Wealthsimple Households, Kids and Teens Accounts, Authorized Traders, Wealthsimple Business, and Spend Insights, all part of the company’s push to become a more complete financial home for Canadian clients.

The company has also been active in payments and investing.

Earlier this year, Fintech.ca reported that Wealthsimple became the first Canadian fintech, and the second non-bank in the world, to join the SWIFT global financial messaging network. The move is expected to support faster and more transparent international money transfers for Wealthsimple clients.

Wealthsimple has also launched new tools for active investors, including futures trading, expanded options access, Trade Plus, and Active Trader Benefits. In April, the company revealed an integration with X, formerly Twitter, allowing Canadian Wealthsimple users to move from financial conversations on the platform toward trading assets through Wealthsimple’s own platform.

More recently, Wealthsimple announced an exclusive three-year agreement with Nieuport Aviation, making the company the sole financial services partner in the transborder lounge at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. The airport activation is designed to showcase Wealthsimple’s credit card products directly to travellers.

Taken together, the activity points to a company trying to become much more than a place to buy stocks or file taxes. Wealthsimple is increasingly positioning itself as a broader financial operating system for Canadians, spanning saving, spending, investing, borrowing, business banking, family finance, payments, and advice.

That kind of expansion requires talent.

Wealthsimple’s pitch to job seekers is built around speed, ownership, and impact. The company says it is looking for people who want to “move fast, ship often, and have a huge impact.” It also points to a flexible work model anchored by its Toronto headquarters, with additional coworking or regional hubs in Calgary, Vancouver, New York, and San Francisco.

Benefits listed by the company include equity for full-time employees, a retirement savings matching plan, paid parental leave, health benefits, mental health support, professional development funding, wellness and home office support, and 20 vacation days per year.

Wealthsimple is also investing in talent pipelines. Its Early Talent program offers hands-on experience and mentorship for students and recent graduates, while its North Star initiative is aimed at encouraging Canadians working abroad to consider building the next stage of their careers back home.

The company’s continued hiring comes as Canada’s fintech sector becomes more competitive, with firms racing to build better financial products, stronger digital infrastructure, and more personalized customer experiences.

For Wealthsimple, the next phase of growth will likely depend not only on product launches and customer adoption, but on its ability to keep attracting the engineers, designers, advisors, operators, marketers, and financial services professionals needed to build at scale.

And for Canadian tech talent, one of the country’s most visible fintech companies is clearly still looking to grow.
