The economic development agency launched a campaign to attract tech talent to the prairie city and its working.
To inspire tech professionals to consider Calgary as a place to do meaningful work and have an unmatched quality of life, the campaign draws a parallel between working in tech and Calgary’s lifestyle.
With more than 2,000 open tech jobs in Calgary, growing the tech community is a need that has been reinforced by local companies of all sizes – they require the right talent to grow their businesses.
Later this month Alberta will be well-represented at our Tech Talent Canada virtual job fair with more than 20 companies that call Calgary home participating.
Among the hiring companies at the event are a handful that have been making headlines for Canada’s Stampede city.
Hometown unicorn Shareworks by Morgan Stanley (formerly known as Solium) will be there. Solium was valued at $1.1 billion when it was acquired by Morgan Stanley in 2019.
Everyone’s favorite food delivery service SkipTheDishes will be online along with Harvest Builders, a prairie venture builder that was created by two of SKIP’s co-founders.
Harvest Builders’ first portfolio company Neo Financial has officially launched and will also be exhibiting in hopes of filling dozens of open roles in Calgary and Winnipeg across all aspects of its business.
Technology giant Garmin specializes in GPS for automotive, aviation, marine, outdoor, and sport activities and employs 13,000+ worldwide. They chose Cochrane, just West of Calgary, as their Canadian headquarters and will be participating.
