YES Launches Program To Train Ukrainians & Youth In Cybersecurity

April 27, 2022 by Robert Lewis

With cybersecurity attacks on the rise and in the public eye, Canada is desperately seeking cybersecurity workers. As recently reported by Deloitte, Canada will need to fill 8,000 cybersecurity jobs over the next few years.

With this growing need for cybersecurity professionals, Youth Employment Services (YES) has officially launched a Cyber Security training program, funded by the Government of Ontario’s Skills Development Fund to train Canadian post-secondary youth and Ukrainian refugees.

The YES program will provide post-secondary youth who disclose mental health issues the opportunity to complete a cyber-security certificate, Cognitive Behaviour therapy, specialized pre-employment,  mentorship and future skills training followed by a work placement program.

This program will empower youth, Ukrainian refugees and job seekers who face barriers a clear pathway into meaningful and reliable employment.
