Hiring? Here Are Over 500 Potential Employees For Your Company

March 18, 2020 by Robert Lewis

We’re living in unprecedented times and it will take years for the Canadian economy to recover.

While larger, established companies can “go remote” in hopes of weathering the coronavirus storm, younger startups are extremely vulnerable and will need to downsize to extend their runway and avoid shuttering completely.

To support those who have lost jobs as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, three members of the Toronto startup community have created a CDN Startup Community #COVID19 Talent Help List and shared it on the StartupNorth group on Facebook to get the word out.

The Talent Help List creators are well aware that there may be very few companies hiring in this unstable environment. “If you’re unable to bring someone onto your team right now, then let’s all make an effort to reach out to these people once the crisis is over”.

Thank you to Marianne Bulger of Prospect, Adam Bercovici of Luminari, and Adam Gellert of HiredHippo for creating the Talent Help List.

The Talent Help List currently includes over 525 people who worked for a failed startup, are in-between jobs, or were recently laid-off. Of those, 331 are located in Toronto and 81 are in Vancouver.
