Thanks To Remote Work, Canadians Are Leaving Montreal & Toronto for Halifax & Vancouver

June 30, 2021 by Robert Lewis

After a year of embracing remote work, Canadians are flocking to Halifax and Vancouver to enjoy the benefits of life on the coast.

The increase in Canadians moving for remote jobs, affordable living and ultimately, a change in post-pandemic lifestyle is highlighted in LinkedIn’s first-ever Workforce Report for Canada, which looked at the internal migration trends of Canadians over the pandemic.

The metro areas in and around Halifax and Vancouver have been the biggest gainers of internal migration since the pandemic took hold in the spring 2020.

The metro areas in and around Montreal (-21%) and Toronto (-12.2) have seen a higher exit of residents since April 2020.

Check out the complete report online.
