Employment OS Launches as Canada’s First All-in-One Employment Platform

September 2, 2025 by Techtalent.ca Newsdesk

Toronto’s Employment Hero, formerly known as Humi, has unveiled Employment Operating System (Employment OS), a first-of-its-kind platform designed to centralize every aspect of the employment journey — from payroll to employee wellbeing.

The launch comes alongside new poll data highlighting the urgency for more reliable payroll systems in Canada. According to the survey of more than 1,000 working Canadians, payroll errors and delays are not rare — they’re widespread and costly.

The findings show that over half of Canadian workers (51 per cent) would struggle to pay their bills if their paycheque was delayed, underlining how many are living paycheque to paycheque. In the past five years alone, 38 per cent of workers — or about 7.8 million Canadians — have experienced a payroll inaccuracy or delay, and most of those issues (62 per cent) occurred more than once.

“When people don’t get paid properly or on time, it’s not just a payroll error – it’s a broken promise,” said Kevin Kliman, President of Canadian Business at Employment Hero. “In today’s economy, where every dollar counts, Canadians can’t afford to be left hanging because of outdated, unreliable systems.”

The consequences for employers are just as severe. Three-quarters of employees (74 per cent) said they would feel negatively toward their employer if their paycheque was delayed. And when overpaid, only 55 per cent of workers said they would definitely report the mistake.

Employment OS addresses these challenges by uniting recruitment, onboarding, benefits, payroll, HR advisory, and employee wellbeing into a single platform. Its Canadian-designed payroll system is tailored for the country’s employment landscape, aiming to reduce errors and ensure timely payments.

“When creating Employment OS, we wanted to support employers and employees by reducing the room for errors with one centralized system,” said Kliman. “Having everything in a single platform makes it easier for employees to routinely review their paycheques, vacation days, healthcare coverage — and easier for employers to get it right.”

As Canada’s workforce grapples with rising costs of living, Employment Hero sees Employment OS as more than just software — it’s infrastructure for financial trust between employers and their teams.
