It’s a common understanding that women are disproportionately represented in tech.
The Covid-19 pandemic has only further underscored the barriers and issues of inequality women and women of colour face as they build their careers in the technology industry.
Regardless of educational background or training, women accounted for 63% of the 1 million jobs lost as of March 2020, and 70% of losses by workers aged 25 to 54.
On September 27th a group of trail-blazing women from BWOSS, Shopify and Google will gather for an insightful panel discussion that explores the unique challenges faced by women of colour. They’ll share their personal journeys and discuss ways employers can help to lower the barriers to entry and career advancement and level the playing field for all.
It will showcase the following panellists:
- Lena Thibeh, Co-Founder, BWOSS
- Stephanie Yi, Solutions Engineer, Shopify
- Katy Hung, Platforms Customer Success, Google
The event, moderated by Uvaro Co-Founder and COO Donna Litt, is free to attend and open to all. Those interested in attending can register here.
