Lighthouse Labs Takes Coding Bootcamps Down Under

October 27, 2021 by Robert Lewis

Vancouver-born Lighthouse Labs is going down under.

The coding bootcamp is partnering with a leading Australian TAFE (technical and further education) institution to establish an Asia Pacific base in the country’s leading tech city, Melbourne.

Victoria Minister for Economic Development Tim Pallas announced this week that Lighthouse Labs in partnership with Holmesglen TAFE will offer digital bootcamp courses for those seeking a rapid career transition and offer new career pathways.

Founded in 2013, Lighthouse Lab finds innovative ways to train the next generation of tech talent, offer courses to upskill or support a career change, and provide the necessary skills to find long-lasting careers in a digital workforce.

The five-year partnership with Holmesglen TAFE will offer its sought-after 12-week bootcamp programs in Web Development and Data Analytics, beginning in February 2022.

“Australia and Canada have similar technology ecosystems, and this partnership will empower students to contribute to the incredible growth of Australia’s tech industry and digital economy,” Lighthouse Labs CEO Jeremy Shaki shared.

The investment is another example in line with the Victorian Government’s International Investment Strategy, which aims to attract global companies from emerging and growth industries that are crucial to grow the state’s economy, create jobs and bring innovation to Victoria.

To date, Lighthouse Labs has trained and introduced more than 30,000 students to the practice of coding and has launched Bootcamp students into careers in the tech industry, with a 99 percent employment rate.
