Marvell Hiring Tech Talent in Canada as Part of $238M Multiyear Expansion Plan

December 1, 2025 by Knowlton Thomas

A US-based technology firm is plotting a major expansion in Canada.

Marvell Technology this month unveiled a five-year expansion plan for its Canadian workforce with intentions to bolster its team in Ontario to drive development of next-generation semiconductor solutions for AI data centre infrastructure.

The Province is supporting the $238 million expansion strategy with a grant of $17M through The Invest Ontario Fund, according to a statement, with Marvell predicting the creation of up to 350 jobs as it establishes an office near the University of Toronto while bolstering existing operations in York Region and Ottawa.

As “one of the largest tech-hubs in North America, Ontario is proudly driving the development of next-generation technologies that are changing the face of leading industries, from consumer electronics to advanced manufacturing,” says Vic Fedeli, minister of economic development.

The Province “is proud to support Marvell Technology’s expansion,” Fedeli continued, “which will not only create hundreds of new, high-value jobs across our tech corridor, but reinforce the province’s leadership in the critical semiconductor industry.”

The multiyear expansion includes an 8,000-square-foot optical lab and other technologies as Marvell drives innovation in custom silicon and connectivity solutions that enable hyperscaler and cloud data centre customers to deploy higher-performance computing systems for AI applications.

“We considered several locations to expand our operations,” says Sandeep Bharathi, who serves as president of data centres for Marvell.

Ontario’s “talent stood out as one of the biggest draws,” says Bharathi.

“The province’s strengths in semiconductor R&D and AI offer a rich pool of professionals that will help us achieve new breakthroughs across some of our most advanced and high-performance products,” Bharathi stated.

Marvell Technology, named a Great Place to Work in 2025, was founded in 1995.

Invest Ontario launched in 2020.
