Shopify To Double Engineering Team With 2,021 New Hires In 2021

January 6, 2021 by Robert Lewis

Shopify has tapped industry veteran Cathy Polinsky as the company’s new vice president of engineering as it plans to double the size of its engineering team this year.

As the newest senior leader on Shopify’s engineering team, Polinsky will lead Shopify’s efforts to build its e-commerce infrastructure and will lead the company’s efforts to double its engineering team in 2021 by hiring 2,021 new technical staff.

We’re investing an incredible amount in the technical foundations of commerce so we can remove barriers for entrepreneurs all over the world to start and grow their businesses. If this inspires you, we need you and your technical expertise – in front end, backend, data, mobile, infrastructure, and more – to continue building one of the world’s fastest growing platforms. Shopify is fully remote. We don’t care where you live; you can work from anywhere.

Interested in working at Shopify? Be sure to fill out this form on their site to hear more about their ambitious hiring plans.

Polinsky has previously served as CTO of Stitch Fix, an online personal shopping service, where she took the company public. Before that, she spent time with Salesforce, Amazon, Oracle, and Yahoo.
