Jelly Academy and Career Education Society have teamed up to provide secondary students in BC with the Digital Marketing Bootcamp.
Available via Workforce Training Certifications, this on-demand course will help students gain an in-depth understanding of the most crucial aspects of digital marketing, including social media, public relations, search engine optimization, Google Ads and Analytics, and Facebook and Instagram Ads—while also providing High School Credits.
“We’re working hard to ensure that students in the K-12 system are provided with the tools they need to succeed post-graduation,” stated Rachna Singh, Minister of Education and Child Care. “Programs like Jelly Academy are helping to support career development and provide kids with in demand skills before they graduate.”
Taught by industry experts, students can gain industry-recognized certifications from popular digital marketing platforms, enhancing their chances of finding jobs after graduation.
“This course will set you up for marketing success whether you’re launching a new business, upgrading your skills to amplify your company’s marketing efforts, or building up your resumé to stand out on your next job application,” a description of the course reads. “You’ll also walk away with access to templates and resources developed by industry experts and some of the most reputable marketing brands to continue to develop your knowledge and future ready skills.”
Modules feature themes such as Search Engine Optimization, Public Relations and Influencer Marketing, and social advertising platforms including Google, Instagram, and Facebook.

BC Tech is partnering with Jelly Academy on the initiative, which launched in March.
“BC Tech is very proud to partner with Jelly Academy to make digital careers more accessible and is thrilled to see this expansion of the Provincial curriculum,” chief executive Jill Tipping stated. “Digital marketing brings so many aspects of technology tools & platforms together and will provide students with digital valuable skills that they can apply to their future careers.”
Enrollment will remain open for the rest of the year. Upon completion of the program, students will be able to register for BC Tech’s Intern Program. This course presents a unique opportunity for grade 12 students, demonstrating the growing demand and market for digital marketing skills and careers across the province.

Meanwhile, LinkedIn data shows a growing demand for more digital marketing professionals, according to Jake Hirsch-Allen, Workforce Development and Skills Lead for LinkedIn Talent Solutions.
He commends the Province of BC and the Ministry of Education “for investing in and providing this opportunity for Grade 12 students to explore this in demand career through micro-credentials and future skills pathways.”

Earlier this year, Jelly Academy partnered with Shane Gibson, founder of the Professional Sales Academy, to launch a B2B curriculum aligned with the core competency framework for sales developed in partnership with industry leaders across Canada.
