Surrey-based Safe Software is embarking on a significant hiring push, with plans to add more than 60 employees across Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom before the end of 2026.
The expansion will increase the FME creator’s global workforce by more than 15 percent, taking its total headcount beyond 400 employees.
The recruitment drive follows a year in which Safe Software surpassed $100 million in annual revenue. The company says revenue grew nearly 20 percent year-over-year, putting it ahead of schedule in its pursuit of a $250-million revenue target by 2028.
Safe Software also expanded its employee base by more than 20 percent during the same period.
“Almost every organization we speak to is trying to get its data ready for AI,” said co-founder and chief executive officer Don Murray.
Murray said companies are discovering that the underlying data—not necessarily the AI model—is often the most difficult part of an artificial intelligence initiative. Safe Software’s FME platform helps organizations integrate, transform, and prepare data from different systems and formats for enterprise applications, including AI.
Approximately two-thirds of the planned hires will be in revenue-facing positions across the three markets. These roles will span sales leadership, revenue operations, enablement, marketing, customer support, and related functions.
Safe Software is also expanding its product, engineering, and operational teams. The company expects to recruit talent in AI enablement, test engineering, DevOps, design, human resources, and employee experience.
Adding more than 60 people within four months will require the company to preserve its workplace culture while onboarding employees across multiple countries, according to Chief People Officer Vanessa Ribreau.
Safe Software reported voluntary employee turnover of just 1.6 percent last year, while its longest-serving employee has been with the company for more than 28 years.
The company was named one of BC’s Top Employers and one of Canada’s Top Small and Medium Employers for 2026. It has also been a certified B Corporation since August 2024.
Safe Software has maintained a strong connection with emerging Canadian talent through its student employment program. The company says it has placed more than 400 co-op students since 2010, with approximately one-third later joining the organization as full-time employees.
